Background and objectives

This webinar invited participants to explore practical examples of transformational adaptation. While there remains many barriers to adaptation implementation despite calls for increasing urgency, there are some excellent examples of good practice that have the potential to be scaled up or replicated elsewhere.

We showcased a small selection of these examples to spark ideas, energy and inspiration to encourage others to collaborate on similar projects that meet transformational adaptation objectives.

The following questions were explored:

  • What does transformational adaptation look like in practice?
  • What ingredients are key to implementing a transformational adaptation project?
  • What funding and resources were utilised to set up and roll out the projects?
  • How have projects been monitored to ensure success?

Speakers

Chaired by Alan Carr, MACC Hub England engagement co-lead, we were delighted to have on the panel:

  • Becky Davies, Taff Catchment Programme Manager, Natural Resources Wales
  • Natalie Barnett, Climate Adaptation Officer, Somerset Wildlife Trust and MACC Hub Advisory Board
  • Helen McCafferty, Project Manager, Green Action Trust
  • Rachel Howlett, Development Officer, Green Action Trust
