Greater London Authority (GLA)
About
The Greater London Authority (GLA) is the strategic regional government for London, responsible for ensuring the city is a safe, inclusive and thriving place to live, work and visit. Through the leadership of the Mayor of London and the scrutiny of the London Assembly, the GLA develops and delivers long-term strategies for transport, housing, climate action, economic development, policing, culture and public health. Working with London’s boroughs, communities, businesses and public services, the GLA focuses on reducing inequalities, strengthening resilience, and creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for all Londoners.
We collaborate with London’s 32 boroughs, the City of London Corporation, public services, businesses, and community organisations to tackle the city’s biggest challenges — from building more affordable homes and supporting a fairer economy to reducing carbon emissions and preparing London for the impacts of climate change. Our goal is to ensure London is a safe, inclusive, prosperous and sustainable city for current and future generations.
