Background
Climate change mitigation gets a lot of attention, but the impacts of climate change are already here and will continue to worsen. So we must adapt to deal with the consequences of climate change. As we get out of the pure mindset of “how do we reduce GHG emissions?” to start including “how do we deal with the impacts of climate breakdown?” we will have to learn new ways to think. Building a common language and breaking down abstract concepts to build distinction in risks will help us make plans that are effective and open new possibilities.
This workshop teaches a framework to make better decisions.
Aim
- Learn to define and understands risk, exposure, vulnerability, adaptation, maladaptation.
- Discover the reasons why adaptation is critical.
