We Need To Talk About Adaptation!

CMPs latest report titled “We Need To Talk About Adaptation” comes out on October 28th.

This online breakfast meeting is for campaigners, community leaders, decision-makers, academics, media and anyone interested in building community resilience.

The report examines the data to understand the extent to which adaptation is now being talked about in the UK (Clue: more than it was, but not enough), and makes specific recommendations for how to increase its profile.

The climate crisis is entering a new phase. As extreme weather becomes more common, life supporting systems come under increasing strain, with UK communities exposed to multiple threats. SAFER is a campaign from the Climate Majority Project, aiming to make adapting for climate impacts a national priority: practical, funded, and community-led.

Adaptation is no longer optional, it is vital. It also acts as a partner and catalyst to decarbonisation and nature regeneration – and a powerful way to engage people in action by addressing immediate, visible challenges.

The second half of this breakfast webinar will explore how #SAFER is seeking to increase the profile, amount and quality of adaptation-work in this country, and invite everyone into that space.
