Date and Time
Date: Wednesday 8th October 2025
Time: 12-1pm (GMT +1)
Location: Online
Aim
The webinar will focus on the data needed for effective risk assessments and will include:
– An overview of the two main approaches to risk assessment: the area-based approach and the sector-based approach.
– An introduction to key data sources for each approach
– Interactive sessions where participants can share their experiences with climate data and recommend any other useful sources.
Agenda
We’ll start with a brief overview of the two main approaches to risk assessment: the area-based approach and the sector-based approach. We will then present the key data sources for each approach (for example the MetOffice LCAS, ClimateJust, and more) providing you with the information you need to get started. The webinar will also include a number of interactive sessions where you can share your experiences with climate data and make recommendations about other useful sources.
This is a great chance to improve your understanding of climate data and work with other professionals in England.
Speakers
The webinar will be led by CAG partners Derek Morgan and Ailsa Gibson, who have extensive experience of supporting local authorities on climate vulnerability assessments and adaptation strategies. They are also currently developing local area advice for climate change adaptation and mitigation on behalf of the Climate Change Committee
