Workshop summary
Using open-access climate risk tools to inform place-based adaptation planning.
As part of our national engagement work, the MACC Hub is offering stakeholders the opportunity to attend one of two upcoming Climate Risk Workshops. These workshops are part of a UK-wide series designed to support local and regional actors in using open-access climate risk tools to inform place-based adaptation planning.
We are working with Sustainability West Midlands (SWM) as our engagement partner for England, supporting the development of non-academic outputs and wider stakeholder engagement.
These workshops will provide practical guidance on how to access and apply climate risk data, with a focus on supporting evidence-based local adaptation strategies.
Workshop focus
• Showcase tools including OpenCLIM, the Met Office’s Local Authority Climate Service (LACS), and the UK Climate Projections User Interface.
• Explore real-world case studies and user journeys. The online workshop will focus on a rural example based in Somerset, and the in-person workshop will focus on an urban example based in London.
• Support strategic planning with accessible climate data.
Audience
Priority will be given to organisations and individuals who may benefit from using and understand climate data to inform policy and practice, especially in the health and local planning sectors. Private climate consultancies are not permitted to attend.
This workshop is limited to 50 spaces. Book early to avoid disappointment!
