About
Keep Wales Tidy is a leading environmental charity working to protect and enhance the places where people live, work and visit across Wales. The organisation supports communities, local authorities and businesses to improve local environments, tackle litter and waste, protect nature, and respond to the challenges of climate change. Through practical action, education, research and partnership working, Keep Wales Tidy empowers people to care for their surroundings and create cleaner, greener and more resilient communities for current and future generations.
What we do
Eradicating litter and waste: Caru Cymru (a Welsh phrase meaning ‘Love Wales’) is our national initiative to eradicate litter and waste. We are working with communities and local authority partners to keep our local environment cleaner and safer.
Empowering young people: Today’s young people are tomorrow’s policy makers, business owners and consumers. We are educating and empowering young people to make positive changes in their schools, homes and communities.
Creating and restoring green space: We are supporting people to create and care for local green spaces, benefiting health and wellbeing, providing a haven for wildlife and feeding into the wider global effort to combat the climate emergency.
Setting standards for environmental quality:Environmental quality sits at the core of our purpose. We help set the standards high for green spaces, beaches, marinas and tourism in Wales through our range of international awards.
