This session will explore the value of epistemic justice, or questions of ‘who gets to be a knower’, why it is important, and the opportunities it offers for thinking through just climate adaptation. It will start with an overview of the theory and follow with discussions around different types of epistemic justice. It builds from the work undertaken in this thesis.

Audience

The Adaptation Community of Practice is free and open to all organisations and groups working on, or hoping to work on, climate adaptation. We meet regularly to share good practice, explore systemic challenges, and provide peer support for work in this complex space.
